Important Dates for Your Tax Return
March 1
Last day to sign up for a digital mailbox (like Kivra) if you want to receive your tax return digitally.
March 2–6
The tax return is sent to your digital mailbox.
March 6
The tax return becomes available as a PDF on the Swedish Tax Agency's (Skatteverket) website. This applies to everyone, whether you use a digital mailbox or receive the paper version by mail.
March 17
The e-service opens. You can now start filing your tax return.
March 31
Early Tax Refund Deadline: If you want your refund as early as possible, you must approve your tax return (via the app or website) by today. To receive the money in April, you must submit it without any changes or additions.
April 7–10
Tax refunds are paid out, provided your return was approved by the Tax Agency and submitted by March 31.
May 4
The final deadline to file your tax return.
